Frequently asked questions

Simon gives commands. You should ONLY follow commands that start with "Simon says". If you do something without "Simon says" in front, or fail to do something with "Simon says" in front, you drink one sip.
What are good Simon Says commands?
The best commands are actions that are easy to get wrong under pressure – point at something, touch something, stand up, sit down. A mix of fast and surprising commands makes the game fun.
Who starts as Simon?
Usually it's drawn who starts (youngest, shortest hair, whoever wants to, etc.). After a few rounds Simon rotates – either after a time limit or after Simon makes a mistake themselves.
Can Simon Says be played without alcohol?
Yes! The game works just as well as a non-drinking game without the alcohol element. Just drop the sip penalty and play for pure fun. Common at children's parties, schools and youth clubs.
What is the difference between Simon Says and the Norwegian version?
They are identical in mechanics. "Simon Says" is the English original; "Kongen sier" (The King Says) is the Norwegian version of the same game. The drinking versions were added by party culture.
