How to Play Thumb Master
One player is the "Thumb Master" and discreetly places their thumb on the table without saying anything. Everyone else who notices must quietly do the same one by one. The last person to put their thumb down drinks — and takes over as the new Thumb Master.
The trick is to do it unexpectedly and naturally — in the middle of a conversation or while someone is distracted. The more discreet, the more fun!

Frequently Asked Questions about Thumb Master
How do you become Thumb Master?
The first Thumb Master is chosen randomly — you can roll a die or just point to a volunteer. After that, the role automatically passes to the last person who put their thumb down in the previous round.
Can the Thumb Master activate the rule multiple times in a row?
Yes! The Thumb Master decides when and how often they activate the rule. They can do it many times in a row until they give up the role by letting someone else be last.
What happens if nobody notices the thumb?
If the Thumb Master waits a long time and nobody reacts, they can lift their thumb and say "you all missed it!" — then everyone else drinks 1 sip.
When does a new thumb round start?
A new round starts automatically as soon as the new Thumb Master decides to put their thumb down. There is no pause or time frame — it is up to the Thumb Master.
How many players is Thumb Master suitable for?
Thumb Master works best with 3–10 players. With fewer than 3 it is too easy to spot who is last, and with more than 15 it can get chaotic to keep track of who put their thumb down last.
