Heads Up Drinking Game – Guess Who You Are
Guess who you are by asking yes/no questions
How to play the Heads Up Drinking Game
Heads Up is a social guessing game where one player holds their phone against their forehead with a term visible to everyone else. The others give hints without saying the actual word, and the guesser tries to get as many correct answers as possible before time runs out. In the drinking version you drink when you guess wrong or time out – and the winner decides the penalty drink.
Rules
- Create a game and share the code with the other players – everyone joins with their own phone.
- The host starts the game and assigns roles: everyone writes a term on someone else's forehead.
- Ask the group questions to guess who or what you are – yes/no answers only.
- Guess wrong or give up → drink.
- The one who guesses correctly can hand out a penalty drink to one other player.
Frequently asked questions
Does everyone need their own phone to play Heads Up?
Yes, in this version all players join with their own phone via a game code. This gives a better experience with shared game status and automatic role assignment.
What kind of terms can you use in Heads Up?
Anything works: famous people, movies, animals, professions, places, characters from series. The more varied, the more fun. The group writes the terms themselves, so you can tailor it to the occasion.
What happens if you can't guess?
You drink. The group can also decide that the one who gave the worst hints drinks with you.
Can you play Heads Up without internet?
This version of Heads Up requires an internet connection since it uses Supabase for real-time synchronisation between players' phones.
How many players does Heads Up suit?
Heads Up works best with 3–8 players. With fewer than 3 there is too little dynamic; with very many it can take a long time between rounds.
