Impostor Drinking Game – Find the Spy among Friends
Find the spy among the players
How to play Impostor
Impostor is a drinking game where one of the players is the "spy" – someone who doesn't know the secret word for the round. All players ask each other questions, and the impostor tries to blend in without revealing that they don't know the word. The other players try to figure out who the spy is.
The spy drinks if caught, but everyone else drinks if the spy manages to fool the group. Perfect for 3–10 players who enjoy bluffing and social games.

Frequently asked questions
How many impostors should you have?
With 3–5 players, 1 impostor is recommended. With 6–10 players, you can have 2 impostors for more excitement. The app lets you adjust this in the setup.
How do you know who voted for whom?
In the standard rules, voting is open – everyone says who they suspect. You can also do it secretly where everyone writes down their suspicion and reveals at the same time.
Can the impostor claim to know the word?
Yes – it's actually a great strategy! The impostor can pretend to know the word and give vague but convincing hints. Bluffing is the heart of the game.
What happens if the group disagrees on who the impostor is?
Hold another voting round, or the group makes a majority decision. No majority = no reveal, and the impostor wins the round.
Can you play without drinking rules?
Absolutely! Impostor works just as well as a social game without alcohol. Drop the drinking rules and play purely for the fun and laughs.
