How to play Drunk Auction

The highest bid wins the right to hand out or complete the challenge.

The game is perfect for pre-parties and parties with 3–8 players, combining strategy with fun.

Frequently asked questions

How many players do you need for Drunk Auction?

Drunk Auction works best with 3–8 players. With fewer than 3, the bidding wars are not very exciting, and with more than 8 there can be long waits between rounds.

What happens if nobody wants to bid on a challenge?

If no players want to bid on the challenge, all players drink the starting bid shown on the card. This creates the incentive to always participate in bidding rounds.

Can you go into a negative budget?

No – players can only bid with sips they actually have left in their budget. A player with an empty budget is excluded from the bidding round and automatically drinks 2 sips per round.

What is the immunity card in Drunk Auction?

Immunity cards are special cards where the winner of the bidding round skips drinking next round. These are highly sought after and often lead to intense bidding wars.

Can you play without a starting budget?

Yes, you can play in free-bid mode where everyone bids with imaginary sips and whoever wins the bid takes the penalty. In this mode the budget system falls away, but the core of the game remains the same.
